We'll be having a busy month in the next month or so and I thought it might be best to summarize everything all in one post. So without further ado...
April 28th - 2D: SFU 3rd Year Film Screening
Rio Theatre (1660 East Broadway)
Time: 7pm
Cost: Free
Flowers will be screening a new music video from one of our songs off the new album and Tyler Hagan will be screening a new documentary on the making of the album. So for all of you who are itching to hear some new (or old but never previously recorded) tunes, this is probably your best bet. Also, they have some really talented classmates who are also screening films of their own so that's a bonus!
***UPDATE**** Tickets for the show on May 21st will be on sale at the screening so you can get them without paying the service charge online and you don't have to go to Red Cat/Zulu either. Plus you get a night of free entertainment!!!!!!
May 19 - Frog Eyes w/ In Medias Res and Shane Turner
Biltmore Cabaret (395 Kingsway)
Doors: 8pm / Show: 9pm
Tickets $15.00 in advance at Zulu, Scratch, and Red Cat
19+
Frog Eyes are releasing their Dead Oceans debut this week and it's a good one. Three years in the making, Paul’s Tomb: A Triumph marks Frog Eyes’ thunderous, frantic, fiery return. This is a slow-brewed masterpiece that is unmistakably Frog Eyes, a new album that was very much worth the wait. You most definitely know Shane Turner from bands like oodpigeon, Fanshaw, Memphis (solo project of Stars’ Torq Campbell), Brundlefly, Sparrow, The Salteens, The Choir Practice and Love and Mathematics.
May 21 - 41st and Home CD release party w/ Aidan Knight, We Are the City, In Medias Res
St. James Hall (10th at Trutch in Vancouver)
Doors: 7pm / Show: 8pm
Tickets $12 in advance at Zulu, Red Cat and online (w/ service charge).
This will be the release of 41st and Home's debut album "Left in Places". Aidan Knight has been garnering some high praise for his new album, Versicolour (produced by the lovely Jonathan Anderson). And you've no doubt been hearing We Are the City a tonne on the Peak 100.5 fm as they won the Peak Performance Project. Get tickets early because this one will sell out for sure!
Wow....so we're very proud to be a part of all of this. We're flattered that people want us to be a part of it. I hope you can be a part of it too. Make sure you buy your tickets for the shows early so as not to get left out in the rain wishing you had not been so complacent.
Okay, see you there!
